Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Report

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers domain sales from August 6 to August 12. We can start things off by addressing the elephant in the room, as christian.com sold for a whopping $600,000 USD, easily making it one of the top sales of 2018. It’s a big drop-off after that, with videoeditor.com checking in at $49,000 USD, primon.com selling for $24,700 USD and ayde.com sitting at 17,647 EUR. Rounding out the 5-figure sales are kruegergroup.com ($20,000 USD), inspiral.com (14,999 EUR), munite.com (9,900 EUR), linedance.com ($11,500 USD), and ummo.com ($10,000 USD). Overall, we counted 46 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is virtually equivalent to the 45 sales in last week’s chart but represents a nice jump compared to the 36 domain qualifiers from two weeks ago.

Our ccTLD section of the Sedo chart is headlined by a trio of .CO domains, as p2p.co led things with a very healthy 15,000 EUR sale, followed by the single-word domains commerce.co and hire.co at 9,000 EUR and $10,099 USD, respectively. Other significant ccTLD sales include lawyersdirect.co.uk (5,000 GBP), titan.io ($6,500 USD), heka.in ($5,500 USD), quant.ai ($4,999 USD), and gifted.io ($4,300 USD).  Overall, this week’s chart featured 28 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (a nice increase compared to both the 13 sales from last week and the 11 qualifying transactions of the week before that), and obviously this was a huge week for .CO with the overall auction leaders sorting out in this order: .CO (10 listings), our usual chart leader .DE (6), .CO.UK (4), .IO (3), and single entries for .AI, CH, .CO.NZ, .IN, and .IT.

The Other domain recap has recently been under an old school resurgence that has displayed a renewed emphasis on the .ORG and .NET domains. That trend ends this week, as new gTLD domains live.fit and gift.pro led the chart by selling for $5,000 and $4,000 USD, respectively. Compensate.org and food.style shuffle in at an even $3,000 USD, and after that the rest of the entries are all .NET and .ORG domains. In all, the Other domain sales number 8 this week, which is an increase from both the 6 domains of last week and the 4 transactions from 2 weeks ago
