The number of listings in this week’s TBR list dropped again, but there has also been a significant decline in both the quantity and quality of overall .CA domains. The explosion of word domains that hit 3 weeks ago is just a fond memory, and with little to no discernible premium options, this week is right down there with some of the worst TBR lists in Canadian history.
The total .CA TBR listings for January 30 check in at 8,067, which represents a drop of 214 domains compared to the 8,281 we had last week. When combined with the 8,487 and 8,436 entries from the two weeks prior to that, this gives us a new and higher (by 63) weekly average of 8,318 TBR listings through the prior month (and 4 weeks straight of 8,000+ entries), which are some of the highest numbers in recent memory.
The slightly lower TBR .CA numbers translated into a total free fall drop in the overall TBR list quality, and there is not a single domain we’d designate as truly premium. As a famous philosopher once said, “In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.”, and this proverb fits our Top Picks list perfectly, which has been whittled down to the best of the LLL crop, FEH.CA, KMW.CA, and SQY.CA.
FEH.ca – Not a great letter combo, but on this TBR list it’s one of the best. The ending “H” could stand for Holdings, Homes, Hemp, etc.
KMW.ca – Another good-but-not-great letter combo, with the ending “W” offering a wide range or options from World to Warehouse to any form of Work-.
SQY.ca – Easily the weakest of the 3, due to the ending “Y” which is difficult to match up to an acronym.

With the growth of hipster brandable domains (pronounceable names that may also phonetically evoke another term or idea: i.e. Simplii = Simply), this section has been added to our TBR report.
