Top 10 Trending Keywords in .COM and .NET Registrations for December
Verisign has released their Top 10 Trending .COM and .NET English Keywords for December 2017. These are the most popular registration keywords used during the month, and can give us an inside view of the hottest trends, news, styles, events, and even people, as it applies to registered .COM and .NET domain names.
In last month’s keyword list, the Versign blog had a range of CryptoCoin terms linked to Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin in virtually all of the top spots. This month, the CryptoCoin influence has grown even more prevalent, and these now hold down nine out of the top ten .COM spots and also represent five out of the top ten .NET keywords. There are a few differences this month and new Crypto keywords making their debut include BLOCK, CHAIN, BLOCKCHAIN, RIPPLE, and ALTCOIN, while those keywords falling off are ETHEREUM and CRYPTOCURRENCY.
The .NET keyword selection is more diverse and includes terms like CORP, RIVER, PRESS, ASSOCIATES, and MOUNTAIN, but in both cases, the top .COM and .NET keywords are remarkably similar. Both lists include CRYPTO, CHAIN and BLOCK, with the only surprise being that COIN is missing from the .NET list. The .COM list is pure Crypto, and in fact, the only differing keyword is APPLIANCE and it sits right at the bottom of the list in 10th spot.
