Top Picks
This week’s TBR list showed a bit of a drop in overall numbers, but certainly not precipitous enough to predict another downward trend. The number of .CA TBR domains for November 21 checks in at 6,910, which represents a decrease of 227 domains compared to the 7,137 we totaled last week. When combined with the 7,136 and 9,317 entries from the two weeks prior to that, it gives us a new and lower (by -142) weekly average of 7,625 TBR listings through the prior month.
It is a pretty mediocre week overall in terms of both words and LLL domains, and other than a few select names, the premium quality was extremely limited. With one exception our top picks selection is also middle-of-the-road and we’ve gone with LAK.CA, TCG.CA, FOUNDATION.CA, and LOANING.CA.
LAK.ca – Not a great 3-letter combo, but it is pronounceable and does not contain any low-end letters. The ending “K” is problematic for an acronym.
TCG.ca – A slightly better combination, with an exceptional “TC” start and an ending “G” that can stand for Group/Groups, General, etc.
Foundation.ca – This is our pick of the week and it gets more impressive each time you say it. A very positive word denoting solidity and timelessness, as well as being a huge term in the charitable sector.
Loaning.ca – Certainly not the top form of the word (does anyone think LOAN.CA will ever go TBR?) but any loan-based single-words are extremely attractive in this economy.

The number of single-words has remained fairly consistent this week, and the quality is also very similar. We have a lot of not-quite-premium names, with some of the top selections being Citations.ca, Macro.ca, Collaborators.ca, Prone.ca, Explores.ca, Horace.ca, Schema.ca, and Rabid.ca.

There are only 7 LLL leftover domains available this week (compared to 13 last week and 15 the week before that) and with 24 leftovers the week before that, we are definitely on a downswing. These ones all have some issues, such as containing at least one undesirable character (J, Q, X, Y, Z), and/or the letter combination is too low-end to hit our Top Picks.
Of the remaining lower-end LLL domains, none really qualify as true second-tier options other than possibly MSU.ca or FOV.ca, while the remainder of the LLLs will likely have very limited uses in the small Canadian business market. Those X’s, Y’s, and Z’s are killers.
