Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from January 14 to January 21, 2019. We begin with the big Sedo sale of the week, as adika.com sold for a very healthy $59,999 USD.  Next up we have the top-secret dossier.com hitting 27,000 USD, while we complete our 5-figure (in relative USD) domain collection with gogocasino.com (15,000 GBP), consenso.com ($15,000 USD), u2b.com (8,000 GBP), and kanabi.com ($10,000 USD). Other notable word-based domain sales included casinojackpot.com ($9,998 USD), upsidedown.com ($6,500 USD), smudge.com (4,140 GBP), cutebabies.com ($5,000 USD), and the double-vision pothead URL weedweed.com ($5,500 USD). In all, we counted a total of 42 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which compares  to the 41, ~32 (an average from our 3-week holiday list), and 29 similar sales from the previous 3 Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section of the recap starts off nicely with luminaires.fr hitting a 5-figure price tag and selling for a very respectable 10,000 EUR. Following this we have the 3-letter nxo.eu ($9,750 USD), the caffeine-infused javahouse.de (6,000 EUR), the sports-oriented flashscore.com.mx ($6,100 USD), and the hipster fuze.fr (5,000 EUR). Overall, this week’s chart featured 12 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which we weigh against the 14 sales last week, the ~11 sales average from our 3-week holiday recap, and the 17 qualifying transactions of the week before that), with the overall auction leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (3 listings), .FR (2), and single entries for .CH, .CO.UK, .COM.MX, .EU, .IN, .NO, and .PT.

The Other section of our recap is very limited in scope and brings back the old school vibe in a big hurry. The top sale was jewel.net at  3,880 EUR, and that was followed by oyster.org (3,388 EUR), arcytech.org ($3,101 USD), and hostcoin.net ($3,000 USD), and that’s all folks. There was not a single new gTLD on the list and the overall numbers were equivalent between the .NET and the .ORG extensions. The end result was only 4 Other domain sales (including 2 .NET and 2 .ORG domains), which compares to the 7 sales last week, the ~5 weekly average of our amalgamated holiday chart, and the 2 similar transactions from the 3 Sedo recaps ago.
