The .CA To Be Released / TBR Results & Leftovers for July 17, 2019
On July 17 at 7 PM UTC/3 PM EST, exactly 76 .CA domain names were selected from this week’s TBR list, which represents a small increase from the 60, 61, and 67 picks of previous 3 weeks. The TBR results continue to mimic the quality of the domain lists, and with a slight uptick in premium names (especially of the 3-letter variety), there was a commensurate jump in the number of picks. Our internal prediction followed suit and we safely stuck to the 70-80 range and came out smelling like a rose.
Historically, .CA TBR runs usually hit right around 100, and after what is really another disappointing number, our overall average has dropped again to only 66 domain selections as the new mean over our last 4 reports, which represents a net change of -6.
The TBR selection process takes place in 5-second intervals or rounds, so it is important to look at the list and domain names in this manner, as well as noting that prospective buyers are a varied mix of companies, web developers, investors and speculators.
This week’s .CA TBR list remained in the mid-8K range, and while premium domains were not exactly overflowing, it still represented a noted increase from the last few recaps. Compiling our Top Picks List was also a bit easier, and we selected a massive 9 .CA domains, accounting for 6 of the top 9 (not bad) domains taken, and all 9 Top Picks were gone within the top 19 overall. Some of these included TNR.CA, TBE.CA, UTI.CA, TKD.CA, RMK.CA, and NEWFIE.CA.
