Trends
After a slight jump last week, the number of .CA TBR listings for August 21 have increased again to 8,188, finally breaking the 8K barrier, and compared to the 7,738 domains from last week, it represents a more substantial weekly jump of +450. When combined with the 7,593 and 8,884 entries from the two weeks prior to that, this still gives us a new and higher (by +27) weekly average of 8,101 TBR domains through the prior month.
Top Picks
The .CA numbers have finally moved above 8,000, but we’re still not seeing a commensurate jump in quality, especially in the LLL and single-word categories. Due to this, our Top Picks list is extremely short, and includes DEP.CA, VKC.CA, and MOXIE.CA.
DEP.ca – Our top LLL pick of the week, as the “DE” start is premium and the ending “P” can stand in for Partners, Printing, Properties, Production(s), Prestige, Privatge, Planning, Packing, etc.
VKC.ca – The starting “V” is problematic, as is the middle “K” but the ending “C” is premium as it can be used for Canada, Company, and Corporation, as well as Collections, Creative, Commerce, Contract, etc.
Moxie.ca – A short single-word that denotes determination mixed with a bit of brashness, and easily the best of the 1-word options that were available.

The number of lower-end 3-letter domains has dropped down to 4 this week, which compares to the 5, 3, and 8 LLL leftovers from the previous 3 weeks. Not a great selection, but with the possible exception of JVZ.ca, these might all be categorized at the very low-end of the second tier.
Lower-end LLLs usually translate into having very limited uses in the smaller-scale Canadian business market. Remember, quality truly matters in the .CA marketplace and in general, one premium 3-letter will always be a sounder long-term investment than a set of lower-end LLL domains.
