Trends
After seven weeks of consistent increases in the TBR list numbers, we finally experienced a bit of a drop-off this time around. It checked in at 8,353 total listings, which represented a very noticeable weekly decrease (-732) compared to the 9,085 entries of last week. When combined with the 8,464 and 7,815 TBR domains from the two weeks before that, this translates into a new and higher (by +230) weekly average of 8,429 TBR entries through the prior month.

Top Picks
The .CA TBR numbers did fall back a bit this week, but the quality level dropped off the table. There are few, if any, truly premium domains on tap and we found it very difficult to create a Top Picks list from this morass of lower-end names. It’s certainly not a high-end selection, but our Top Picks List includes LRK.CA, UEI.CA, CURATOR.CA, JACKALOPE.CA, and VALIDATION.CA.
LRK.ca – Not a great LLL, as while the starting “LR” is nice the ending “K” is very problematic for acronyms and only stands in for a limited number of relevant terms like Knowledge, Key, King, Kit, Known, etc.
UEI.ca – This LLL is a bit better, and although the “UE” is average at best, the ending “I” has a wealth of possibilities, including Incorporated, Information, International, Insurance, Internet, Import, Interest, Industry/Industrial, Internal, Innovation, Investing, Inspection, Inventory, etc.
Curator.ca – A prime and singular word domain that has a lot of potential uses in many different fields. It also has a positive connotation, evoking careful organization, selection, and preservation in a given area.
Jackalope.ca – This one sounds weird initially (it’s a mythical jackrabbit-antelope – remember the Pixar short?), but the term has a surprisingly wide use in business.
Validation.ca – Another top single-word that has a key and positive meaning for several business sectors, as well as notable usage in many existing companies.
Words of the Week
The overall number of single-word domains has decreased slightly this week, and once you get by the very limited number of Top Picks, it’s not exactly loaded with near-premium domains.

Other LLL.CA Domains
The number of lower-end 3-letter domains has jumped up again, and we have 11 to report in this recap, which sits near the top-end of the 3, 5, and 13 LLL leftover range from the prior 3 weeks . This is another low-end week for 3-letter quality, with a lot of J, Q, X, Y, and Z letters making an appearance, but there are a few that may be considered second-tier, such as KHH.ca, ODK.ca, and VGN.ca.
Lower-end LLLs usually translate into having very limited uses in the smaller-scale Canadian business market. Remember, quality truly matters in the .CA marketplace and in general, one premium 3-letter will always be a sounder long-term investment than a set of lower-end LLL domains.
