Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap
Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.
This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from April 20, 2020 to April 26, 2020. We start off the .COM section of this recap with punks.com, which sold for a very nice $60,000 USD to lead the entire Sedo weekly chart. There were several other .COM domains that hit 5-figures, including fww.com ($35,000 USD), findhelp.com ($19,888 USD), louise.com ($15,000 USD), a-k.com ($14,888 USD), nonzero.com (10,000 EUR), and allform.com ($10,000 USD). In all, we counted a total of 47 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which fits just above the 39, 35, and 22 qualifier range of our prior three Sedo recaps.
The ccTLD section of our recap begins with the 2-letter be.de selling for a very respectable $23,000 USD, while cuore.it ($15,000 USD) and another 2-letter in vl.de (11,000 EUR) represented the other 5-figure ccTLD transactions. The majority of the remaining notable domains sales were word-related and included rent.de (7,300 EUR), slack.kr ($5,000 USD), recruit.ie (3,690 EUR), cry.ch (2,999 EUR), and hemp.ch (2,500 EUR). Overall, this week’s chart featured 21 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which sits just above the range of 17, 15, and 15 similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (11 listings), .CH (2), and then single entries for .AT, .CA, .CO.UK, .ES, .IE, .IT, .KR, and .ME.
The Other portion of the Sedo chart is certainly not extensive, but it is decisive in terms of content. The entire section is comprised of telesur.net ($6,720 USD), ehrn.org ($4,999 USD), and trampolin.org (2,083 EUR), making it clear which gTLD camp took home both the total dollar value and total domain number challenge crowns. We tallied only 3 domain sales in this week’s Other section, which rests just below the 8, 5, and 5 transaction range of our last 3 weekly updates.
