Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from June 15, 2020 to June 21, 2020. We start off the .COM section of this recap with the two top-ranking sales of the week, as both zirrus.com and constructionloan.com checked in at an even $25,000 USD, which led the entire Sedo chart as well. There was also a healthy selection of other 5-figure transactions that included myty.com ($24,999 USD), aerosol.com ($16,750 USD), jbcapital.com (15,000 EUR), vafo.com ($13,500 USD), jetluxe.com ($12,500 USD), nomadism.com ($12,499 USD), qjv.com ($10,500 USD), and adaction.com ($10,000 USD). In all, we counted a total of 61 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which sits well above the 50, 33, and 45 qualifier range of our prior three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section of our recap begins with the only 5-figure transaction in this area, as the mixed 3-character nr1.de changed owners at a hefty price tag of 20,000 EUR. The next highest ccTLD domain sales were seguridad.mx (7,300 EUR), infranet.at (5,500 EUR), magnets.eu (5,431 EUR), and bhi.co ($5,000 USD). There was also a trio of 3-letter options with esp.es (4,000 EUR), cgn.co (3,950 EUR), and hov.co ($3,895 USD) spicing things up, while the premium 1-word fish.co sold for a very affordable $2,500 USD. Overall, this week’s chart featured 20 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which barely fits inside the range of 16, 13, and 20 similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (9 listings), .CO (4), .EU (2), and then single entries for .AT, .CH, .ES, .MX, and .NL.

The Other portion of the Sedo chart is a bit more active compared to last week, but it’s a one-man show with the old school gTLDs holding down the fort, headed by match.net (4,100 EUR) and properly.net ($3,500 USD). The contest is not even close, as all of the domain sale are either .NET or .ORG, so the total domain number and total dollar value challenges are not even up for debate. We tallied 4 domain sales in this week’s Other section, which still rests within the 2, 11, and 9 transaction range of our last 3 weekly updates.
