The overall TBR numbers have fallen off a cliff this week, checking in at a measly 5,333, which has to be challenging some sort of modern record. This represented a monstrous weekly decrease (-2,178 – after losing 1,488 last week) compared to the 7,511 entries on the previous list. When combined with the 8,999 and 7,863 TBR numbers from the two weeks before that, it translates into a new and significantly lower (by a massive-852) weekly average of 7,427 TBR listings through the prior month. Wow. How the mighty have fallen.

Top Picks
First off, in provinces supporting Daylight Savings Time, the TBR has moved ahead one hour, and in the case of EST, it shifts back to 3PM.
The .CA numbers have literally dropped off the table and barely made it above the 5K mark. The quality level is also very low and whatever cream there is at the top is also an extremely thin layer. This means our Top Picks list doesn’t look too bad on the surface, and includes FOJ.CA, COACHMAN.CA, DINGHY.CA, GLENGARRY.CA, INDIAN.CA, MARLEAU.CA, and NETWORKS.CA.
ROJ.ca – Easily the top 3-letter on the board, as it’s got the most years behind it (2009), is pronounceable, and is in surprisingly wide use with business.
Coachman.ca – A very well-aged (2001) brand that is also utilized by a wide range of businesses.
Dinghy.ca – One of the best and more resonant single-words on this week’s list, but with only moderate use in business.
Glengarry.ca – A county in Ontario made up of North and South Glengarry and it’s both a Scottish & GEO brand pick for many companies.
Indien.ca – French for “Indian”, and while this term is not in vogue for First Nations, it is still present in many business names, and has the added bonus of appealing to the growing number of Asian Indians in Canada.
Marleau.ca – Another domain that only popped after looking at its age (2001) and examining the domain’s notable presence in company names.
Networks.ca – An easy top pick for an online society, and it’s also well-aged (2001), not to mention this domain already sold for $3,000 USD in 2011. Cha-ching!

Other LLL.CA Domains
The number of lower-end 3-letter domains fell back to only 5, which compares poorly to the 11, 14, and 8 LLL leftover range from the previous 3 weeks. This is what I call a “bad penny” week in the bargain bin, with each of these LLLs being registered only a few years ago, with no discernible business interest for these acronyms, and then tossed back in the ocean for the next speculator to find.
Lower-end LLLs usually translate into having very limited uses in the smaller-scale Canadian business market. Quality truly matters in the .CA marketplace and in general, one premium 3-letter will always be a sounder long-term investment than a set of lower-end LLL domains.
