Top Picks
Although we have experienced a slow and steady increase in TBR listings throughout 2018, lately there has been a slight downward trend that continues this week. The .CA domain listings for August 1 total 7,430, and when combined with the 8,198 and 7,684 entries from the last two weeks, that gives us a 3-week average of 7,770 .CA domains.
In terms of quantity, while the number of words and multi-words have remained consistently high, the LLL supply has almost totally dried up. The only two LLL.ca domain listings are MOK.CA and VTS.CA, and both make our Top Picks, along with words like GAVE.CA and THUG.CA.
MOK.ca – Not a perfect letter combination (the ending “K” is a killer), but it is phonetic and with only two LLL’s on the list, beggars can’t be choosers.
VTS.ca – The starting “V” is not doing it any favours, but the middle “T” and ending “S” are excellent, with the latter standing in for popular terms like Services, Systems, Solutions, etc.
Gave.ca – While this is the past form of Give, you’re not going to be seeing that word on any TBR list and this form still has its uses and is only 4 letters.
Sarcasm.ca – Not a word that immediately brings forth business usages, but it is singular and widely recognized.
Thug.ca – This is a potentially good brandable and is only 4 letters long with a definite hipster meaning.

Other LLL.CA Domains
As there are only 2 LLL.ca domains on the TBR list, this section is right up there with Mother Hubbard’s cupboard in terms of bareness. It does give us an opportunity to look at the recent and somewhat-troubling increase in TBR demand for 3-letter .CA domains, seemingly without any real-world basis in sales or auction data.
Previously, it was common for some, or even most, of the LLL listings to go unclaimed, but now we’re seeing even the lowest end of the LLL market being scooped up early, and at some cost to the buyer. Hopefully domainers are not looking at the LLL.COM market and projecting that to .CA, as these are very different. The .CA marketplace is similar to the top 10% of .COM, where a lower population and fewer corporations translate into anything but the cream of the crop being a tough sale.
Brandable / Pronounceable Domains
With the growth of hipster brandable domains (pronounceable names that may also phonetically evoke another term or idea: i.e. Simplii = Simply) we’ve added this section to our TBR picks. Of these, Cazino.ca has some potential, as do Fyne.ca and Slyk.ca.
