Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from March 4 to March 10, 2019. We start off our .COM domain sales report with boot.com, a killer 4-letter word, selling for a very healthy $70,000 USD. We follow this up with another pair of significant transactions, as investingmoney.com paid off at an even $55,000 USD and tzgz.com managed to hit $43,000 USD. We close off the 5-figure brigade with tbn.com ($29,888 USD), datenschutzauditor.com (15,000 EUR), promanage.com ($10,000 USD), internationaldesigngroup.com ($10,000 USD), and secureaccess.com ($10,000 USD). If we took one thing from the remainder of the list it would be the presence of many short and pronounceable .COM domains, including vepe.com (8,000 EUR), epor.com ($8,500 USD), ozti.com ($5,000 USD), tawek.com (4,000 EUR), and gooin.com ($3,000 USD). In all, we counted a total of 56 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which compares extremely well against the 47, 36, and 37 similar sales from the previous 3 Sedo domain recaps.

The ccTLD section begins with the lone 5-figure transaction in this area, as swimmingpool.de dove deep for 12,750 EUR – but meinung.de is not that far back at 8,000 EUR. We also have the 2-letter + potential domain hack tr.im hitting an even 8,000 EUR, along with geburtstagsgeschenk.de (7,500 EUR), c-a.de (5,000 EUR), and motoryacht.de (4,999 EUR). Other notable sales included quite a few single-word domains like flirts.de (5,950 EUR), process.co (4,000 EUR), casino.sv (3,500 EUR), pinnacle.se ($3,500 USD), jump.ch (2,990 EUR), and nectarine.co (2,500 GBP). Overall, this week’s chart featured 20 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which we can rank against the 22, 22, and 21 sales from the last 3 weeks), with the overall country leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (11 listings), .CH (2), .CO (2), and then single entries for .IM, .IT, .NL, .SE, and .SV.

The Other section of our recap is another short story, led by the new gTLD real.men selling for $5,999 USD and the geo-domain istanbul.org getting $5,101 USD. After that, it’s all .NET and .ORG domains, and although the new guard started out well, the old school gTLDs really cleaned up at the end. There were a total of 5 Other Sedo listings that hit $2K or more this week, which is about on par with the 2, 6, and 4 sales from the last 3 weeks.
