Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from April 22 to April 28, 2019. We start off the .COM section of this recap with one of the top sales of the week, as casinoengine.com sold for a very nice $40,000 USD. This was followed by several 5-figure domain sales, such as slot777.com (28,500 GBP), bjjx.com ($11,800 USD), edgenyc.com ($10,000 USD), and masterprep.com ($10,000 USD). Other notable domain transactions include the hyphenated art-invest.com (8,900 EUR) and d-fly.com ($4,500 USD), the 2-word trustedlogin.com ($8,000 USD) and onlineboss.com ($5,000 USD), as well as the Crypto-related bitcoinfuture.com ($5,960 USD).  In all, we counted a total of 50 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which compares well to the 42, 54, and 50 similar sales from the previous 3 Sedo domain recaps.

The ccTLD section begins with the biggest sale of the week, as seereisen.de (meaning “sea travel” in German) sported an impressive price tag of 59,500 EUR. There was a big drop-off after that, with jack.de (15,000 EUR) and vapy.de (11,000 EUR) finishing our 5-figure domain transaction list, although at $9,250 USD, fragrancenet.ru was not far off the mark. There were a few 3-letter ccTLD sales this week, including sub.co ($5,000 USD), els.de (2,999 EUR), and act.us ($2,999 USD), while rowingblazers.us hitting $5,999 USD was a bit of a surprise. Overall, this week’s chart featured 25 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which compares favorably to the 18, 22, and 15 sales from the last 3 weeks), with the overall country leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (10 listings), .ES (2), .EU (2), .US (2), and then single entries for .CO, .CO.UK, .IO, .IT, .KR, .NL, .PL, .RU, and .SE.

The Other section of our recap is yet another fight between the new and old gTLDs, but this week was a bit of a turnaround in terms of the winners and losers. We start off with the 3-letter ngj.org selling for $8,800, selfstorage.info going for $6,999 USD, and then a pair of .NET domains, vapy.net and almadina.net, hitting $5,750 and $5,499 USD, respectively. When looking at the chart data, it was a tie at 4 domain sales each for the new and old guard, while the .ORG/.NET contingent held a commanding lead with total dollar amount. In terms of overall numbers, the 8 total Other domain sales of $2K or greater matches up closely to the 5, 8, and 5 sales from the last 3 weekly updates.
