Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Report

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

Our Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers domain sales from October 22 to October 28. This week, we counted 4 .COM domain sales that reached 5-figures in USD, headlined by kiaro.com selling for $15,000 USD. The others were smileback.com ($12,500 USD), easypayments.com ($12,000 USD), and myhead.com (10,000 EUR), while bonavida.com came close at 8,000 EUR. Overall, we counted a total of 40 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, down slightly from the 47 similar transactions last week, but up a bit compared to the 36 sales of 2 weeks back.

The ccTLD section of the recap starts off with a very nice transaction, as music.to sold for 30,000 GBP to lead the entire Sedo sales recap. Unfortunately, that was the only ccTLD domain to reach 5-figures, but some of the other noteworthy domain transactions include robert-auer.de (7,500 EUR), motels.co.uk (4,400 GBP), baiser.fr (5,000 EUR), and aal.co.uk (4,250 GBP). There was also a continuation of the “single-word domain sale” trend, with avec.fr (3,000 EUR), lover.de (3,000 EUR), dope.co.uk (2,000 GBP), comply.me ($2,500 USD), and skip.tv ($2,200 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 19 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (a jump from the 12 sales of last week but a drop compared to the 20 qualifying transactions from the week before that), with the overall auction leaders sorting out in this order: .CO.UK (5 listings) .DE (5 listings), .FR (3), .ES (2), and single entries for .CH, .ME, .TO, and .TV.

It’s rare to see the Other domain recap’s sales tally hit double-digits, and this week is no different. In fact, a new gTLD led this section, as air.space sold for $17,500 USD. It was a big drop-off to the next level down, as service.express hit 3,999 GBP and wagen.net went for 3,000 EUR. There were 5 domain sales from the .NET and .ORG camp, easily making up the majority of transactions in this area, but these were all at the lower-end of the scale. This time we charted 7 Other transactions of $2K or higher, which is big jump from the 3 sales of last week, but a slight drop when put up against the 9 sales from 2 weeks ago.
