Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Report
Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.
Our Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers domain sales from October 1 to October 7. This week, we counted only 4 .COM domain sales that reached 5-figures: duolab.com (33,000 EUR), kapten.com ($19,888 USD), b13.com (13,000 EUR), and bargaining.com ($12,495 USD), although themineralcompany.com and uhive.com both came very close, as each sold for $9,999 USD. Multi-word domains claimed a good percentage of the .COM, including notables like thinkwhy.com ($6,000 USD), coolbell.com ($5,520 USD), dronecompanies.com ($5,000 USD), and growthfund.com ($4,975 USD). Overall, we counted 38 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is down slightly from the 44 and 50 sales from the previous two weeks.
The ccTLD section of the recap starts off with a first/last name .CO domain, as wallace.co sold for $5,999 USD. It was followed by ontzorg.nl (3,500 EUR), cambridge.tv (2,750 GBP), viagens.com.br ($3,300 USD), and perk.ca ($2,999 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 9 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (down from both the 15 sales of last week and the 14 qualifying transactions from the week before that), while the overall auction leaders sorted out in this order: .DE (2 listings), and single entries for .CA, .CH, .CO, .COM.BR, .FR, .NL, and .TV.
The number of domains on the Other domain recap has dropped slightly this week, and for the first time in weeks we also do not have any new gTLDs auction sales of $2K or higher to report. It’s old school this week, as tl.net sold for a whopping $40,000 USD to lead the entire Sedo weekly chart, while mahjong.net went for $10,000 USD and parken.org finished us up at 2,000 EUR. That’s all she wrote for Other domain sales, and these 3 transactions showed a decline compared to the 5 sales of last week and the 6 from 2 weeks ago.
