Top 10 Trending Keywords in .COM and .NET Registrations for April
Verisign has released their Top 10 Trending .COM and .NET English Keywords for April 2018. These are the most popular registration keywords used during the month, and can give us an inside view of the hottest trends, news, styles, events, and even people, as it applies to registered .COM and .NET domain names.
In last month’s keyword list, the Versign blog highlighted standard terms like GENERAL, PRESIDENT, PASSION, FAIRY, JUMBO, and HOSPITAL, along with the hot game of the moment FORTNITE, and while these specific keywords have changed in April, the overall trend is still towards generic terms.
In terms of the .COM registrations,Verisign’s most popular keywords in April were FUNERAL. LAZY, HOLO, and REALTOR. This last keyword’s high placement is no surprise, as Spring is one of the hottest times for house sales – CERVEZA (Spanish for beer) is another item that benefits from the warmer weather. Other popular keywords are HAINAN (a province in China), REGENERATIVE, LOCATIONS, and the ever-present BANKRUPTCY.
Again, there is no cross pollination between the .COM and .NET keyword lists, and this trend has been going on for several months now. Some of the notable .NET keywords for April include BASE, PEN, ACCIDENT, and ATTORNEY, while MARIJUANA, CHILD and MICHIGAN cover off the middle of the chart.
