Top Picks
The TBR listings show a slight increase this week, moving up by exactly 700 domains compared to last week. This is after the TBR list already dropped by 500, 400, and 200 listings over the past 3 weeks (and by 1,100 the week before that), so hopefully we’re back on a positive trend. The number of .CA TBR domains for September 26 checks in at 7,141 and when combined with the 6,441, 6,917, and 7,314 entries from the previous three weeks, that gives us a new and lower (by 89) weekly average of 6,953 TBR listings through the prior month.
The overall domain quantity and quality has increased significantly this week, and we literally had a hard time cutting down the Top Picks. There were so many words and multi-words it was a bit unnerving, but unfortunately, we’re still in a rut when it comes to the LLL selection. This week our Top Picks List features IDB.CA, HELPS.CA, REAPER.CA, SWEAR.CA, and ZONE.CA.
IDB.ca – Not a bad LLL, but certainly not premium and it’s simply another case of the “best we have”.
Helps.ca – This is a plural, but it actually works out well, as HELP is more of a request for aid, while HELPS offers a willingness to give aid.
Intend.ca – A singular word that may be the weakest on the list, but it’s short, recognizable and does not evoke any negative feelings.
Reaper.ca – This is a great word that could be used for a multitude of products or businesses.
Swear.ca – One meaning is obviously profanity, but the other is to make a solemn promise or agreement.
Zone.ca – Easily the top word on the list. It’s short, powerful, and singular – it really has it all.

As you can clearly see, the word domain list has exploded this week, but more impressive is the actual quality of the words. There are 4 LLL leftover domains this week (compared to 2 last week and 3 the week before that) and none had even a remote shot of making our Top Picks. All of these have some issues, such as containing at least one undesirable character (J, Q, X, Y, Z), and/or the letter combination is too low-end to hit our Top Picks. Of the remaining low-end LLL domains, XIG.ca is probably the best of a very bad lot, but these are hardly “investment quality” by any stretch.
One of the most important factors of lower-end LLL.CA domains like these is the presence of a company, especially a large North American multinational, using the corresponding .COM.

XFD.ca – No resolving .COM company.
XIG.ca – The .COM resolves to a placeholder for the defunct Xi Graphics, Inc.
ZEH.ca – No resolving .COM company.
Brandable / Pronounceable Domains
