Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from March 11 to March 17, 2019. We start off the .COM section of the recap with the chart-leading vivlio.com (“book” in Greek) hitting $25,000 USD and mandom.com (possibly bought by the Japanese cosmetic company?) coming very close at 20,000 EUR. There were 5 other domain listings that reached a 5-figure price, including niq.com ($19,000 USD), kgbank.com ($15,000 USD), date247.com ($15,000 USD), nowos.com ($13,000 USD), and artificer.com ($12,000 USD). Other notable domains were the pronounceable neksa.com ($9,900 USD), the CrytoCoin-themed localcryptos.com ($5,000 USD), and (at a very good price) the first-name jeanie.com ($3,600 USD). In all, we counted a total of 48 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which compares closely to the 56, 47, and 36 similar sales from the previous 3 Sedo domain recaps.

The ccTLD section begins with a rare 2-letter .DE, as bf.de reached 5-figures and sold for a cool 15,000 EUR. This was followed by rundflug.de (6,800 EUR), kapelusz.pl (6,190 EUR), declareren.nl (6,000 EUR), and schiebesysteme.de (4,500 EUR). Other notable sales included the 3-letter sti.co selling for $3,895 USD, equalizer.es going vigilante at $3,599 USD), and aero.pk coasting in for an even $3,000 USD. Overall, this week’s chart featured 14 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is down compared to the 20, 22, and 22 sales from the last 3 weeks), with the overall country leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (6 listings), and then single entries for .CO, .CO.UK, .ES, .HK, .NL, .PK, .PL, and .US.

The Other section of our recap follows the standard pattern of a new gTLD leading the way, this time with ostsee.travel heading the chart at a selling price of 9,500 EUR. After that it was cryptomining.org ($4,000 USD), tradelogic.net ($3,500 USD), and another new gTLD in pulse.cloud (2,888 EUR) before closing off with a selection of .the usual NET and .ORG domains. The new guard made a good start, but at the end of the day, the old guard .ORG/.NET contingent took the crown for both the number of sales and overall dollar value again this week. There were a total of 7 Other Sedo listings that hit $2K or more this week, which is up slightly from the 5, 2, and 6 sales from the last 3 weekly updates.
