Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Report

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

Our Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers domain sales from October 8 to October 14. This week, we counted 7 .COM domain sales that reached 5-figures, led by one major transaction as jobster.com sold for $200,000 USD, while bobet.com and bitcoinsv.com weren’t exactly chopped liver, selling for $58,000 USD and $50,000 USD, respectively. The other 5-figure sales included bons.com ($14,000 USD), biotica.com ($13,000 USD), briankemp.com ($11,500 USD), and trope.com ($10,000 USD), but cruiseplanet.com came very close at $9,950 USD. Overall, we counted 36 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is a slight drop from the 38 and 44 similar sales from the previous two weeks.

The ccTLD section of the recap starts off with a bang, as we have casino.ro leading the entire Sedo chart with a massive 220,000 EUR sale. It doesn’t end there, as the top ccTLD sales mirror those of the .COM section, following up with golftv.co.kr hitting 60,000 EUR and golftv.kr selling for 50,000 EUR. Two other ccTLD domains reached 5-figures: earth.co ($15,000 USD) and bonus.jp (10,000 EUR). Single-word domains seem to be very popular in the ccTLD sector, and this trend holds throughout the entire list, right down to micro.com.br. Overall, this week’s chart featured 20 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (a big jump from the 9 sales of last week and a slight increase compared to the 15 qualifying transactions from the week before that), with the overall auction leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (5 listings), .CO (2), .RO (2), and single entries for .CO.KR, .COM.AR, .COM.BR, .EU, .FI, .FR, .IO, .JP, .KR, .ME, and .MX.

The number of domains on the Other domain recap has increased this week, and although this area is still dominated by .ORG and .NET domains, there are also a pair of new gTLDs auction sales of $2K or higher to report. It’s another old school week, with path.net leading the way at $22,000 USD, followed by reviver.net ($4,000 EUR), advertisement.org (3,800 EUR), and cabinet.org (2,588 EUR) – the new gTLD sales were repro.solutions at $3,000 USD and soar.tech for $2,399 USD. In total, we charted 9 Other transactions of $2K or higher, which is a nice jump compared to both the 3 sales of last week and the 5 from 2 weeks ago.
