Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Report

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers domain sales from July 30 to August 5. To start, we have a trio of domains all tied for the .COM lead, with openweb.com, medicalcrm.com and caliva.com each selling for $15,000 USD. Three other listings reached 5-figures USD, including rucksack.com (9,500 EUR), ecarshop.com ($11,000 USD) and bakt.com ($10,000 USD). One of the remaining listings that caught our attention was discounting.com at $8,900 USD, which seems like a relative value compared to the overall market for business-related, single-word domains. Overall, we counted 45 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which represents a nice increase compared to the 36 sales in last week’s chart and is an even larger jump next to the the 31 domain qualifiers from two weeks ago.

Our ccTLD section of the Sedo chart is headlined by the top sale of camisetas.com.br (Spanish for shirt or t-shirt) at a very healthy $15,000 USD, while wertstoff.de and patronen.de also snuck into the 5-figure club (in relative USD) by selling for 9,500 and 9,000 EUR, respectively. Other ccTLD domain sales of interest include goldcoin.hk at $8,100 USD, coil.me going for $4,999 USD and coinmine.co hitting $2,588 USD. Overall, this week’s chart featured 13 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (a very slight jump compared to both the 11 sales from last week and the 10 qualifying transactions of the week before that), and the overall auction leaders came out in this order: .DE (5 listings) and single entries for .AT, CO, .COM.BR, .FI, .HK, .ME, .SE, and .US.

The Other domain recap has displayed a slight bump up from last week, as well as renewed commitment to the .ORG and .NET domains. Last week we saw a couple of new gTLDs at the top of the chart, but usbetting.net and wck.org are this week’s only 5-figure results, sporting end prices of $15,000 and $12,500 USD, respectively. The new gTLD market is represented by be.fit at an even $5,000 USD, but after that it’s a pair of .ORG domains and a single .NET rounding out this section of the recap. In all, this represents 6 qualifying sales in the Other chart, which is an increase from the 4 domains of last week, but a drop compared to the 9 transactions from 2 weeks ago
