Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Report

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers domain sales from August 13 to August 19. Our report starts out with the major transaction of the week, as shakti.com sold for an even $50,000 USD. There was a bit of a drop-off afterwords, and this was followed by three other 5-figure entries, dextra.com (11,088 EUR), youjzz.com ($10,500 USD) and allergysmart.com ($10,000 USD). As usual, there were a lot of multi-words like babydream.com ($5,750 USD), blockware.com ($5,000 USD) and movietrivia.com ($4,995 USD), as well as some interesting domains such as repet.com at only 2,800 EUR. Overall, we tallied 37 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is down a bit from both the 46 sales in last week’s chart and the 45 domain qualifiers from two weeks ago.

Our ccTLD section of the Sedo chart is headed by a pair of domains that hit 5-figures (in relative USD), as slot.gr sold for 10,000 EUR and yunar.de hit 8,700 USD, and another that barely missed with weather.co sliding in with a $9,999 USD sales total. There has been a lot of auction activity in the .CO sector lately, and this week we have two more short words hitting the chart: memo.co (7,500 GBP) and debt.co ($3,900 USD). Other sales of note include instabank.de (6,000 EUR), fahrzeuge.at ($5,500 USD), biota.io ($3,499 USD), and ciso.de ($2,888 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 15 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (down from the massive 28 sales from last week but up a bit from 13 qualifying transactions of the week before that), with the overall auction leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (4 listings), .CO (3) and single entries for .AT, .BE, CH, .CO.UK, .CO.ZA, .GR, .IO, and .MA.

The Other domain recap has been showing some signs of an old school resurgence in .ORG and .NET domains, and this week certainly starts out like that, as wormholes.net sold for a hefty $28,600 USD. But from that point on, it was a different story as the new gLTDs took over with token.xyz ($14,999 USD), bot.app ($9,999 USD) and evolution.pro ($3,500 USD) holding down the next three spots before shifting back to a few .ORG and .NET domains. In all, the Other domain sales totaled 10 this week, which is an increase from both the 8 domains of last week and the 6 transactions from 2 weeks ago
