Top 10 Trending Keywords in .COM and .NET Registrations for July
Verisign has released their Top 10 Trending .COM and .NET English Keywords for July 2018. These are the most popular domain registration keywords used during the month, and can help give us an inside view of the hottest trends, news, styles, events, and even people, as it applies to registered .COM and .NET domain names.
In last month’s keyword list, the Versign blog went back to normal after a month of gambling-induced keywords, as more generic terms like FORCE, EXPLORE, CERAMIC, SPACE, INSURANCE MARKETING, and SIDE took over the June Verisign list. There was also some cross-pollination between the .COM and .NET lists (which surprisingly, doesn’t happen often) as FORCE hit both sections of the keyword chart.
In July, the .COM registrations continue along a similar, more generic, trend line, albeit with some different keywords like VEIN, GLOBE, YEARS, and CUSTODY sitting right at the top of the list. Looking further down the list we have the ever-popular LITIGATION, then COZY, TESLA and WICKED, providing even a wider range of keywords than we had last month. Of these, we like GLOBE and LITIGATION, although it is somewhat strange to find a term like VEIN leading the way.
Although the .NET section of the keyword chart is similar, there is still a more business-oriented feel to the terms, with TON, FASHION, FILM, and COMPANY heading this area of the chart. The keyword MORTGAGE solidifies the financial side of things, but we also have OVER and GENESIS a bit lower on the list as well. Once again, this is no cross-pollination between the two keyword lists, and if we had to choose a theme for each, then .COM seems more legal-oriented with CUSTODY, LITIGATION and CLAIMS, while .NET is certainly more media-friendly with FASHION, FILM and COMPANY.
