Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from March 25 to March 31, 2019. We start off the .COM section of the recap with the top Sedo sales of the week, as applegreen.com blossomed to a cool 50,000 EUR and citizenships.com reached $40,000 USD. These transactions were followed by carfin.com ($25,000 USD). tambola.com ($15,000 USD), hackly.com ($14,500 USD), 1001consejos.com ($12,500 USD), bitcap.com ($12,500 USD), and exl.com ($10,000 USD), which closes off our 5-figure domain sales. Otherwise, there seemed to be a lot of multi-words like smokeland.com ($9,500 USD) and amazingads.com ($6,000 USD), as well as pseudo-words such as vertue.com ($5,500 USD), extremee.com (3,490 EUR), and eventier.com ($2,500 USD). In all, we counted a total of 52 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which compares well to the 42, 48, and 56 similar sales from the previous 3 Sedo domain recaps.

The ccTLD section begins with the lone 5-figure sale in this area, as the 2-letter hs.at took home a nice 10,000 EUR payday. Other notable sales included reshape.co ($7,500 USD), lav.co ($7,000 USD), cec.se ($6,200 USD). skapa.eu (6,000 EUR), passtperfekt.de (5,000 EUR), and rowingblazers.ca ($5,000 USD). There were also several short .IO domains right after this, including hkd.io ($3,899 USD), diode.io ($3,750 USD), and jpy.io ($3,499 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 20 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which compares well to the 20, 14, and 20 sales – anyone else noticing a pattern? – from the last 3 weeks), with the overall country leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (7 listings), .CO (3), .IO (3), .ID (2), and then single entries for .AT, .CA, .CO.UK, .EU, and .SE.

The Other section of our recap is yet another battle between new gTLDs and the old .ORG/.NET guard. albeit a very short one. We start off with simon.group leading this section at a sale price of $6,500 USD, with two .ORG domains, gerstner.org (2,873 EUR) and parc.org (2,500 EUR), following up and closing down this particular group. The 3 total Other domain sales of $2K or higher is certainly a low number, but still not that far off the 4, 7, and 5 sales from the last 3 weekly updates.
