Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from July 1 to July 7, 2019. We start off the .COM section of this recap with the two main players of the week, as bettingodds.com changed hands for a massive 390,000 GBP and crystals.com displayed a sparkling $188,000 USD price tag – those are two very spicy meatballs. After that, it’s a bit of a drop-off to the 3-letter beq.com, still at a very respectable 50,000 EUR, and the single-word replicate.com, which closes off our 5-figure selection at 20,000 EUR. There are quite a few pronounceables at the next auction tier, including tempr.com ($8,800 USD), lupot.com (8,000 EUR), gurv.com ($7,500 USD), apato.com ($6,500 USD), and butec.com (6,300 EUR). In all, we counted a total of 37 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, and this represents a slight drop compared to the 42, 40 and 42 qualifiers of last three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section begins with a trio of German domains leading the way, as manuka.de hit 45,000 EUR to lead this section, singleboersen.de qualified for the 5-figure club with a price tag of 20,000 EUR, and casino-bonus.de completes the trifecta, albeit down a bit at 6,500 EUR. Other notable ccTLD domain sales include the 3-letter fta.eu (4,620 EUR) and rrb.io ($3,999 USD), along with the single-words lifts.co.uk (5,000 GBP), flash.in (4,500 EUR), track.tv (3,000 (EUR), kiss.fr (2,500 EUR), and variable.co ($2,495 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 22 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which sits in the same basic range as the 17, 24, and 14 similar transactions of the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (9 listings), .EU (3), .CO (2), and then single entries for .CO.UK, .COM.BR, .FR, .IN, .IO, .JP, .PE, and .TV.

The Other section of our recap commences with a big bang, as horseracing.net sold for a very significant $60,000 USD, giving it a 3rd place ranking on the overall Sedo chart. After that, there is a big drop down to signal.art and artbrut.org, which changed hands at $6,040 USD and 5,000 EUR, respectively. In terms of the new vs old gTLD war, the old guard comes out ahead in both the individual sales and total dollar amount skirmishes, and this would be true even if you took the big horseracing.net sale off the table. In terms of overall numbers, this week’s 6 total Other domain sales of $2K or greater was within shouting range of the 5, 9, and 8 transactions from our last 3 weekly updates.
