Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from October 21 to October 27, 2019. We start off the .COM section of this recap with the top sale of the week, as flexable.com changed hands at a very nice $19,800 USD. The top of the chart also featured three other .COM domain sales that hit 5-figures, including goldina.com (11,000 EUR), petabyte.com ($11,000 USD), and op360.com ($10,000 USD), but that was it for the higher-end transactions, There were also a few notable domains further down on the list, such as the 4-letter forw.com (5,250 EUR) and jhag.com ($2,500 USD), the potential-brandables aromar.com ($5,980 USD), hygena.com (5,000 EUR), corpia.com ($4,900 USD), and lunella.com (4,359 EUR), as well as a few pronounceables like linel.com (7,800 EUR), heelr.com ($4,500 USD), sabbar.com ($4,000 USD), and closd.com ($2,500 USD). In all, we counted a total of 42 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is in the same basic range as the 40, 39, and 41 qualifiers from our last three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section has shrunk a bit this week, and there is also not a single domain that sported a 5-figure price tag. Heading the group we have the 3-letter taf.se at a respectable 5,000 EUR, followed by the 2-letter gg.gl ($4,780 USD), then lucatis.ch (4,200 EUR), and mybike.be (4,000 EUR). Short domains seemed to be the main ccTLD trend of the week and we even had another 2-letter sale with la.ai (2,500 EUR – also a potential domain span), along with the 3-letter options fut.co (3,150 EUR) and dew.co ($2,000 USD), and finally the 4-letter anza.ca ($2,000 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 16 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is still in shouting distance of the 26, 22, and 12 range of similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .CH (3 listings), .DE (3 listings), .CO (2), and then single entries for .AI, .BE, .CA, .EU, .GL, .ME, .MX, and .SE.

The Other section of our recap isn’t exactly an expansive one, and overall it’s a pretty quick read. There are only a pair of domain transactions in this area, with dreamer.xyz going for $2,495 USD and transen.net hitting 2,300 EUR. This translated into one domain from each camp and transformed the old vs new gTLD total dollar value and total domain number challenges into a virtual wash. The 2 domain sales in this week’s Other section contrasted with the noticeably-higher 9, 5, and 6 transaction numbers of our last 3 weekly updates.
