Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from October 14 to October 20, 2019. We start off the .COM section of this recap with the biggest sale of the week, as sentai.com changed hands at a cool $29,999 USD to lead the entire Sedo chart. There was only one other .COM transaction to reach 5-figures, with the 2-word mailmanager.com shipping in at an even $13,000 USD. Other notable sales included the 4-letter listings qiro.com ($7,500 USD), sspo.com (5,000 EUR), nudg.com ($5,000 USD), qowa.com ($3,200 USD), mijn.com (3,000 EUR), and lqud.com ($2,500 USD), as well as a few single-words like bombastic.com (3,800 EUR), telescoped.com ($2,800 USD), and redly.com ($2,060 USD). In all, we counted a total of 40 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is the same basic range as the 39, 41, and 35 qualifiers from our last three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section has grown even larger than last week’s big result, and we begin with the long multi-word iwantmymoneyback.de checking in at 10,000 EUR, while zulassung.de (10,000 EUR) and newshub.co.uk (9,000 GBP) also hit the 5-figure mark (in relative USD). In terms of short domains we have the 2-letter mm.at selling for 6,000 EUR, along with a pair of 3-letter sales in mol.de (5,950 EUR) and cms.nl (2,000 EUR). There were also several 1-word domain transactions, such as diamond.co (8,200 EUR), rapid.io ($8,000 USD), hero.ai ($7,000 USD), contact.mx ($6,087 USD), and sole.fr (3,000 EUR). Overall, this week’s chart featured 26 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is up from the 22, 12, and 18 range of similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (13 listings), .AI (3), .CO (2), and then single entries for .CO.UK, .COM.MX, .ES, .EU, .FR, .IO, .MX, and .NL.

The Other section of our recap starts out with the 3-letter jvv.org hitting a very respectable $12,500 USD, but that was the lone 5-figure sale, with the next highest being the stealthy cannabis.ninja ($5,000 USD), along with cbbank.net ($4,888 USD) and interview.org ($4,000). It was certainly a big week for single-words and in addition to the previously-mentioned ones, we also had wisely.net ($3,000 USD), allegiance.org ($2,999 USD), primer.xyz ($2,995 USD), and diagnostic.online ($2,200 USD). It should be obvious that the old .ORG/.NET guard easily surpassed the newer gTLD contingent, taking home both the total dollar value and total domain number challenges. The Other section checked in with an impressive 9 total domain sales, which is a definite step up from the 5, 6, and 4 transaction numbers of our last 3 weekly updates.
