Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from May 27 to June 2, 2019. We start off the .COM section of the recap with the two big dogs, as rpo.com sold for $50,000 USD and insura.com finished a close second at $40,000 USD. The other domains hitting a 5-figure price (in relative USD) include tumbzilla.com ($14,888 USD), sweatcoin.com (12,000 GBP), and vipinternet.com ( 9,990 EUR), with some of the other notable 2-word domain sales being cybersix.com ($9,880 USD), marketphone.com ($7,500 USD), pethome.com ($7,000 USD), and adpunch.com ($3,500 USD). In all, we counted a total of 38 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is very close to the 36, 42, and 42 similar sales from the previous three Sedo domain recaps.

The ccTLD section begins with a quartet of domain sales reaching the 5-figure range, with perfectos.cn heading the group at $23,000 USD, followed by navi.co ($15,000 USD), spedition.de (10,000 EUR), and genius.co.uk (9,995 GBP). There were a few other short domain names and words of note, such as diff.be ($8,500 USD), 4d.ai ($4,000 USD), jsr.se (3,950 ER), and scene.ly ($2,995 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 13 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is down from the 24 of last week, but on par with the 13 and 8 sales of the prior 2 weeks), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .CO.UK (2 listings), and then single entries for .AI, .BE, .CH, .CN, .CO, .DE, .ES, .ID, .LY, .NL, and .SE. It was another wide open week for ccTLDs, with our perennial leader .DE falling behind once again.

The Other section of our recap features another mixed bag of new and old gTLD listings, starting off with freeslots.casino changing hands at a very respectable price tag of $4,200 USD. This was followed by satech.net hitting 3,300 EUR and atb.group going for 2,500 EUR, before closing off with a pair of old school .ORG/NET domains. It created a very similar scenario to the previous weeks, with the new gTLD insurgents putting up a very good battle before ultimately losing out to the old guard. The .ORG/.NET duo won both the individual sales (3-to-2) and total dollar amount titles, though the battle was another close one. In terms of overall sales, the 5 total Other domain sales of $2K or greater was just a bit lower than the 6, 8, and 8 transactions from the last 3 weekly updates.
