Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from June 3 to June 9, 2019. We start off the .COM section of this recap with the top transaction of the week, as creatio.com sold for a very nice 40,000 EUR. This was followed by two other 5-figure sales, with shortselling.com trading hands at 10,000 EUR and articlesbase.com hitting $10,000 USD. Other notable transactions include the pronounceables gazal.com ($6,000 USD), anter.com (4,900 EUR), and pygar.com (3,900 GBP), the 2-word dentalschool.com ($5,000 USD), hellowellness.com ($5,000 USD), and restaurantgift.com ($3,500 USD), as well as the 4-letter domains qtpz.com ($5,000 USD) and rvrr.com ($2,550 USD). In all, we counted a total of 26 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is a drop compared to the 38, 36, and 42 similar sales from the previous three Sedo domain recaps.

The ccTLD section begins with a pair of auctions sporting 5-figure price tags, as studio.io led the way at $20,000 USD and week-end.fr closed off the short list at exactly 10,000 EUR. There was also a pair of 3-letter domain sales in rpb.fr (3,500 EUR) and dai.tw ($2,500 USD), a trio of 2-word domains like openlegal.com.au ($6,881 USD), professionalstore.de (2,500 EUR), and happyzoo.cn ($2,309 USD), as well as a couple of word domains that included chois.de (6,000 EUR) and mermaid.me ($2,500 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 13 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is exactly the same as the 13 of last week, but down from the 24 of the week before, and then right back to 13 for the prior week), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (4 listings), .FR (2), and then single entries for .CN, .COM.AU, .IN, .IO, .ME, .PL, and .TW.

The Other section of our recap is another mix of both new and old gTLD listings, again starting off with another young turk in the lead, as koeln.business sold for an impressive 6,000 EUR. After that we have two .NET domains in wetrade.net (3,900 EUR) and videomark.net ($2,800 USD), and in a flip from previous weeks, the new gTLD side took 2 of the next 3 sales. In terms of individual sales, it was a tie (3-to-3) but the total dollar amount title wasn’t even close and the new gTLD contingent finally took home the crown. In terms of overall sales, the 6 total Other domain sales of $2K or greater was on par with the 5, 6, and 8 transactions from the last 3 weekly updates.
