Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from November 4 to November 10, 2019. We start off a top-heavy .COM section of the recap with the largest sales of the week, headed by saxx.com,which played to a tune of $65,000 USD. But that was just the beginning of the .COM romp, as a trio of 3-letter domains also posted a nice set of results, starting with oli.com going for $50,000 USD, followed by zeq.com and dyo.com at 40,000 EUR and $35,000 USD, respectively. There was a long line of other 5-figure price tags, highlighted by traian.com ($32,000 USD), commercialsearch.com ($30,000 USD), prizepicks.com ($19,000 USD), smilelife.com ($15,000 USD), and thepra.com ($13,000 USD). In all, we counted a total of 58 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, translating into a big week for .COM compared to the previous range of 35, 42, and 40 qualifiers from our last three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section was not as active, but there were still three domains that hit 5-figures, featuring odds.co (25,000 GBP), dj.de (19,990 EUR), and produktvergleich.de (17,000 EUR). Other notable transactions included the 3-letter listings oyo.com.br ($7,000 USD), ore.co ($3,000 USD) and vdn.ch (2,999 EUR), the single-words lade.de (5,000 EUR), garten.co (4,500 EUR), and gulf.fr (2,390 EUR), as well as a few multi-words like travelinsurance.es ($8,999 USD), mybits.de (2,500 EUR) and studypoint.de (2,500 EUR). Overall, this week’s chart featured 17 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is still in same area code of the 20, 16, and 26 range of similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (9 listings), .CO (3), .CH (2), and then single entries for .COM.BR, .ES, and .FR.

The Other section drops back a bit compared to last week, both in terms of pure volume and the high-end performers.The headliner Other domain sale of the week was bowen.org, which checked in at $5,000 USD, and this was followed by schule.net (2,550 EUR) and bolig.net (2,195 EUR), making it pretty clear which of the new or old gTLD camps was tops this time out. In fact, there was only a single new gTLD qualifier, home.pro at $2,000 USD, which means the .ORG/.NET contingent posted easy victories in both the total dollar value and total domain number challenges.
