Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from November 11 to November 17, 2019. We start off the .COM section of the recap with the top results of the week, headed by gamesapp.com selling for $15,000 USD. A $15K price is not usually what tops the .COM weekly charts, and there are only three other Sedo listings that also reached 5-figures, featuring vny.com ($13,000 USD), jobscan.com ($12,500 USD), and wohnmobil.com (10,000 EUR), although the 3-letter vqf.com came extremely close at $9,999 USD. Other notable .COM sales included the multi-words safereach.com ($9,500 USD), techprojects.com ($7,000 USD), and deltababy.com ($6,735 USD), the 4-letter clig.com (5,000 EUR), klot.com (3,200 GBP), and feyc.com ($3,200 USD), as well as the pronounceable/brandable carner.com ($8,000 USD), learni.com ($5,650 USD), and armsa.com ($3,500 USD). In all, we counted a total of 37 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is well back from the 58 of last week, but still in range of the 35 and 42 qualifiers from our prior two Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section featured the standard level of activity, headed by the spicy porn.co changing hands at an even 20,000 EUR, then followed by the other 5-figure transaction, as chatten.de reached $15,000 USD. There were a few other domain sales of interest, such as the Devilish NNN 666.co ($9,990 USD), the 2-character e5.ai (5,000 USD), the animal 1-words cougar.ch (4,888 EUR) and lizard.co (2,950 GBP), as well as a long line of 3-letter domains that included pry.co ($5,999 USD), gem.uk (3,000 EUR), mer.ch (2,950 EUR), eid.li (2,880 EUR), epj.nl (2,500 EUR), rps.de (2,299 EUR), and pex.io ($2,200 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 22 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is still in same area code as the 17, 20, and 16 range of similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (8 listings), .CO (4), .CH (2), and then single entries for .AI, .BE, .COM.UK, .IN, .IO, .LI, .NL, and .UK.

The Other section displays a lot of activity,  at least relative to its usual performance, and things start off with the largest sale on the entire Sedo chart: dawn.org selling for an amazing $50,000 USD. It’s not even that big of a drop-off after that as cats.org ($15,000 USD) and hnc.org ($12,500 USD) accounted for another pair of 5-figure price tags and helped make it a banner week for .ORG. After that, we have a pair of .NET and another two .ORG sales, along with a single new gTLD – dennis.group going for $3,500 USD. That makes it another clean sweep for the old guard in our total dollar value and total domain number challenges. We tallied 8 domain sales in this week’s Other section, which is a bit higher than the 4, 6, and 2 transaction numbers of our last 3 weekly updates.
