Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from November 18 to November 24, 2019. We start off the .COM section of the recap with the top domain transaction overall and the only 6-figure entry on the entire board, as buoy.com sold for a whopping $110,000 USD to easily lead the entire Sedo chart. We follow this up with a trio of 5-figure price tags, featuring welog.com ($20,000 USD), qru.com ($12,000 USD), and cselect.com ($10,500 USD), while macropay.com came very close at $9,880 USD.  Other notable .COM domain sales included the pronounceables mogoo.com ($8,500 USD) and plannin.com ($7,500 USD),, the two-words homestatus.com ($7,775 USD), and datacatalog.com (5,000 EUR), and the name/word domains lysander.com (6,000 EUR) and plomero.com ($5,980 USD). In all, we counted a total of 41 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which stays in same basic range as the 37, 58, and 35 qualifiers from our prior three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section begins with a trio of 5-figure sales of its own, headlined by the 3-letter oto.co ($12,500 USD), the 1-word gamers.eu (11,250 EUR), and the 3-character numeric 326.cc (10,000 EUR), providing a wide range of domain types. It was a heavy week for 1-word ccTLD listings as several charted high, including tricks.de (5,950 EUR), tempo.tv ($5,000 USD), jupiter.io ($4,688 USD), link.by ($2,500 USD), country.li ($2,500 USD), failure.co ($2,500 USD), optimism.io ($2,395 USD), and automation.co ($2,000 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 26 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is slightly higher than the 22, 17, and 20 range of similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (9 listings), .CO (4), .EU (3), .IO (2), and then single entries for .BY, .CC, .FR, .ID, .IT, .LI, .ME, and .TV.

The Other section certainly doesn’t contain a large number of domain listings, but with the new gTLD clean.tech changing hands at a very significant $30,000 USD, it does start off with a bang. This area finished up with 3 straight .NET transactions, with the prices of enote.net, megapay.net, and hopkinscme.net ranging from $2,390 to $3,950 USD. This led to a split in the official new vs. old competition, as the new guard obviously took the total dollar value challenge by a wide margin, just as the old school .NET/.ORG contingent easily won the total domain number fight.
