Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from November 25 to December 1, 2019. We start off the .COM section of the recap with the top transaction of the week, as brgroup.com sold for a very respectable $30,000 USD and also led the entire Sedo chart. This section also has five other domains that reached a 5-figure price, including talkyou.com ($15,000 USD), secker.com (10,000 EUR), moulds.com ($10,000 USD), ubisense.com ($10,000 USD), and woofpack.com ($10,000 USD). Other notable .COM sales featured the 3-character q25.com ($9,000 USD), the pronounceable naeco.com (8,000 EUR), and the 4-letter/character domains 3dqr.com (6,000 EUR), gvta.com ($5,000 USD), hefa.com (4,500 EUR), fcus.com ($4,500 USD), nght.com (2,720 EUR), and 1tab.com (2,650 EUR), and as you can see, there seems to be a lot of European buyers. In all, we counted a total of 38 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which stays in same area code as the 41, 37, and 58 qualifiers from our prior three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section begins with potenzmittel.de selling for 19,000 EUR while aera.co changed hands at a price tag of 14,500 EUR, and we follow this up with a pair of rare 2-letter transactions featuring av.ai ($12,000 USD) and ev.ai (5,000 GBP). There was a nice mix of ccTLD options in this week’s chart, from the very small, exp.fr (4,000 EUR), pea.co ($3,700 USD), hmh.de (2,590 EUR), and ron.cc ($2,000 USD) to the large, oleuropeina.it (4,250 EUR), multivitamin.ch (2,000 EUR), and zaunsysteme.de (2,000 EUR), with a few words like revue.co (4,000 EUR), tutorial.fr (3,000 EUR), and link.la ($2,000 USD), tossed in-between. Overall, this week’s chart featured 22 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is in the same range as the 26, 22, and 17 similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (7 listings), .CO (3), .AI (2), .FR (2), .IN (2), and then single entries for .CC, .CH, .CO.UK, .IT, .LA, and .ME.

The Other section of the Sedo chart has ploy.shop leading the way with a 12,300 EUR sale price, and that ‘s also the only listing that even approaches 5-figures. The old guard checks in next with smsforum.net ($5,195 USD), sosa.org ($4,500 USD), and creditcoin.org ($3,500 USD) leading the charge. This at least makes the weekly battle a bit more interesting, and although the .NET/.ORG contingent easily won the total domain number fight by a 5-2 score, the total dollar value challenge was a lot closer with the old guard still taking home the win, albeit by a relatively slim margin.
