Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Report

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap is an amalgamated list and covers domain sales from the 3 weeks between December 17, 2018 and January 6, 2019. We begin this recap by addressing the elephant in the room and covering off the massive domain sale of taxes.com for $250,00 USD. Next up comes finalgoal.com at $68,000 USD, and then a pair of LLL domains, ggn.com and daz.com, selling for $29,000 and $25,500 USD, respectively. This was a good period for LLL domain sales, as the Sedo chart also contains eum.com ($17,400 USD), azh.com ($15,000 USD), and zuj.com (10,099 EUR). In all, we counted a total of 97 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which results in a weekly average of approximately 32 domains, which compares to the 29, 41, and 38 similar sales from the past 3 Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section of the recap starts off with paybit.cn selling for $12,000 USD, while bonus.com.de hitting 10,000 EUR is the only other domain to reach 5-figures in relative USD. There were some other intriguing sales in the form of a trio of 2-letter domains, as sv.at headed the list at 7,500 EUR, lf.de checked in with a price tag of 6,000 EUR, and cb.at pulled up the rear with a 4,999 EUR sale. Overall, this week’s chart featured 32 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which equates to 10-11 sales per week, and compares to the 17, 16, and 15 qualifying transactions of our previous 3 recaps), with the overall auction leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (8 listings), .FR (4), .CO (3), CN (3), AT (2), and single entries for .CH, .CO.KR, .CO.UK, .COM.BR, .COM.DE, .ES, .EU, .IN, .IO, .LU, .NL, and .TO.

This week in the Other section of the chart is a fairly sedate affair, but we did have a pair of 5-figure sales in enhance.net ($14,000) and emprego.org ($10,000 USD). Single words (especially GEO) seemed to be the prevailing trend in this area, as in addition to the top 2 domains, we also have resort.net ($6,000 USD), psyche.org ($5,000 USD), swarm.tech ($5,000 USD), seattle.biz ($4,000 USD), london.info ($3,133 USD), cloud.team (3,000 EUR), damascus.net (2,500 EUR), and thai.today ($2,000 USD). The end total was 14 domain sales, including 4 .NET, 3 .ORG and 7 other gTLD, which translates into an even split of 7 apiece, with the .NET/.ORG due getting the lion’s share of the big sales.
