Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from March 2, 2020 to March 8, 2020. We start off the .COM section of this recap with the lone 5-figure domain sale in this area, and at $10,000 USD, the 2-word onlytech.com barely qualified. After this, the highest-priced domains were intonation.com (7,000 EUR) and enby.com ($6,000 USD), while other notable .COM transactions included the brandable arrivia.com selling for $5,000 USD, horsebreed.com racing to 4,500 EUR, and the crypto-related bitcoindata.com cashing in at $3,488 USD. In all, we counted a total of 30 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which barely makes the 44, 44, and 28 qualifier range of our prior three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section of our recap begins with the largest Sedo domain sale of the week, as the rare 2-letter German domain rs.de sells for a massive 70,000 EUR to lead the entire chart. There were also a trio of 5-figure transactions with breitband.de (20,000 EUR), merkursport.de (20,000 EUR), and reference.co (11,000 EUR) leading the way, although mallorca.at also made the “effective USD” cut at 9,900 EUR. Overall, this week’s chart featured 28 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which far exceeds the range of 16, 13, and 21 similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (13 listings), .CO.UK (4), .CO (2), .EU (2), .FR (2), and then single entries for .AT, .CH, .IT, .ME, and .RU (рф).

The Other portion of the Sedo chart provides the second-largest domain sale of the week, with the sentimental memories.net changing hands for an amazing $41,000 USD. But we’re not done yet, as the 3-letter fhe.org ($11,000 USD) also hit 5-figures and breathworks.org (8,495 EUR) came close in adjusted USD. That obviously translates into an easy win for the old guard in our total dollar value challenge, but a spate of lower-value new gTLD transactions actually gave the total domain number victory to the new kids on the block.
