Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from June 1, 2020 to June 7, 2020. We start off the .COM section of this recap with a pair of 2-word domain sales that led the way, as medicalcoverage.com and assetguard.com both changed hands at an even $18,000 USD. There was also a nice selection of 5-figure transactions that included amendable.com ($15,000 USD), upteam.com ($12,000 USD), medicalbills.com ($12,000 USD), and kissi.com ($11,000 USD). In all, we counted a total of 33 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which falls well short of the 45, 49, and 51 qualifier range of our prior three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section of our recap begins with two .CO domains topping this area, starting with mixit.ro selling for 8,600 EUR and then the single-word amity.co checking in at $5,000 USD. These are ccTLD-leading numbers that are considerably lower than usual, although we did have a pair of rare 2-letter auctions, of.tv ($4,700 USD) and it.lv (4,688 EUR), that helped spice things up. Overall, this week’s chart featured only 13 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which sits outside the range of 20, 21, and 25 similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .CO (3 listings), .DE (3 listings), and then single entries for .CH, .EU, .IT, .LV, .ME, .RO, and .TV.

The Other portion of the Sedo chart is where the big money domains start and end, such as the Sedo chart-leading fm.net selling for a massive $70,000 USD and the rare 1-letter c.live (Owen?) placing second overall at $28,500 USD. After that, the .NET/.ORG contingent kind of took over, yielding sales like yjzg.net ($9,999 USD), cpf.net ($9,900 USD), gfly.org ($3,999 USD), and the timely woke.net ($3,500 USD). Obviously, the old guard took home both the total domain number and total dollar value challenges this week and totally dominated this subsection. We tallied 11 domain sales in this week’s Other section, which rests just above the 9, 7, and 6 transaction range of our last 3 weekly updates.
