Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from June 22, 2020 to June 28, 2020. We start off the .COM section of this recap with stellantis.com headlining at a price tag of 20,000 GBP, which stayed just ahead of a pair of 5-figure domain sales featuring charteredcare.com ($15,000 USD) and lawyer24.com ($11,000 USD). Other domains that came close were dadjoke.com ($9,999 USD) and biomes.com ($9,888 USD), while functor.com ($8,000 USD) closes off this next tier of .COM auction prices. In all, we counted a total of 43 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which sits just inside the 61, 50, and 33 qualifier range of our prior three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section of our recap begins with the major transaction of the week, as the premium expert.ai hit the jackpot to the tune of 95,000 EUR to lead the entire Sedo chart. We also had another trio of 5-figure ccTLD sales, which included company.ch (22,000 EUR), stellantis.fr (18,000 EUR), and ecash.ch (11,050 EUR). Other notable ccTLD transactions included the 3-letter pvh.de (4,500 EUR) and sur.ge ($3,500 USD – a potential domain span of “surge”), the first-name faye.fr (5,000 EUR), and the single-word patch.me ($2,000 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 18 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which fits inside the range of 20, 16, and 13 similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (8 listings), .CH (2), .FR (2), .ME (2), and then single entries for .AI, .COM.MX, .GE, and .IT.

The Other portion of the Sedo chart is again displaying more activity than the last week, but just like in the previous chart, it’s the old school gang taking over. All of the Other sales are either .NET or .ORG, dominated by .ORG (5-2) this time, and led by mermaid.net (7,999 EUR), civ.org ($7,500 USD), and encrypt.org (6,500 EUR). This also means that our total domain number and total dollar value challenges are a moot point. We tallied 7 domain sales in this week’s Other section, which still rests within the 4, 2, and 11 transaction range of our last 3 weekly updates.
