Top Picks
After a sustained rise throughout much of 2018, the overall number of expired .CA domains continues to drop, and this week we see only 7,684 entries on the TBR list. Overall quality has also dropped, with only 5 LLL domains and a significant decrease in the number of premium single and multi-words.
Once again we have two high-end LLL domains on the TBR list, with DDA.CA and KLK.CA,and while the premium single-word selection is way down, CRANIUM.CA is both singular and recognizable. We also added in a few Brandable domains to pick up the slack, including HERBD.CA, CIMPLE.CA and STONR.CA.
DDA.ca – Easily the best LLL on the list, and the “DD” start is closed off with an “A” that can stand for Association, Advertising, Analytics, etc.
KLK.ca – This one is a tougher fit for an acronym, as how many company names end in a “K”? Better luck with an entity using KLK as a generic 3-letter combo.
Cranium.ca – It’s a tough week for .CA words, but this is a singular term that is in wide use and has recognition for cognitive functions.
Cimple.ca – It’s time to add some brandables to the Top Picks, and by using a soft C, this turms Cimple into Simple.
Herbd.ca – With marijuana being decriminalized, all the potheads will be madly searching for domains and this one is hip, brandable and phonetic. For the completist, we also have Stonr.ca a bit later in the Brandables section.

There are only three leftover LLL domains this week, and other than the premium DDA.CA and semi-premium KLK.CA, there are no other truly high-end letter combinations. Most of these contain at least one undesirable character (J, Q, X, Y, Z), and usually the letter combination is still too low-end to hit our Top Picks. Of these, EUU.ca is easily the best of the second tier.
One of the most important factors of lower-end LLL.CA domains like these is the presence of a company, especially a large North American multinational, using the corresponding .COM.

Brandable / Pronounceable Domains
This week we’re trying something new, and with the growth of hipster brandable domains (pronounceable names that may also phonetically evoke another term or idea: i.e. Simplii = Simply) it is high time these got their own section. We’re starting with a limited set of short, pronounceable terms that caught our eye on the TBR list, the highlights of which include Byke.ca, Jenes.ca, Stonr.ca, Selz.ca, and Ourly.ca.
