Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from September 23 to September 29, 2019. We start off the .COM section of this recap with the biggest transaction of the week, as upgrades.com changed hands for a very nice $32,000 USD. This was followed by a quartet of domains that also hit 5-figures, starting with the 4-letter ycbd.com at $14,000 USD, as well as pharmamall.com ($12,000 USD), hvw.com ($12,000 USD), and xvide.com ($11,832 USD). Other notable sales included the two-word doctorplan.com ($6,600 USD) and oasispro.com ($6,500 USD), the 4-letter ylex.com ($4,250 USD), the CCC ot8.com ($3,995 USD), and the highly-brandable dabbly.com (3,650 EUR). In all, we counted a total of 35 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is down from the 50 of last week, and closer to the 42 and 34 range of the two prior Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section is actually quite competitive with top-end the .COM area, starting out with the top sale of scalable.co which hit $25,000 USD. There were also a trio of 5-figure domain transactions, featuring payment.co (12,875 EUR), perfectos.nl (10,000 EUR), and yet another 1-word .CO in binge.co ($10,000 USD). Words and short-domains seemed to be in vogue this week, as divorce.tv ($4,000 USD) and gate.me (2,200 EUR) continued the above trend, while toj.de (3,735 EUR), rpz.de (2,599 EUR), clima.ch (2,999 EUR), and vayu.in (2,500 GBP) highlighted the latter one. Overall, this week’s chart featured 18 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is on par with the 18, 18, and 17 range of similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (7 listings), .CO (4 listings), and then single entries for .CH, .ES, .IE, .IN, .ME, .NL, and .TV.

The Other section is a one-man show this week, as the chart is entirely comprised of .ORG and .NET domains, headed by finallyhome.org and womanly.org selling for $4,999 and $3,000 USD, respectively. Obviously the old guard easily wins both the total number and total dollar value challenges this time around, and just for the record, .ORG beat .NET by a count of 3 to 1.  The Other section checked in with 4 total domain sales, which represents an overall decrease compared to the 9, 6, and 5 transaction numbers from the last 3 weekly updates.
