Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

Our Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers domain sales from December 3 to December 9. We begin this recap by covering one of the biggest sales of 2018, as plants.com sold for a whopping $450,000 USD to dwarf any of the other transactions on the chart. It’s a long drop down to the second-place bittop.com at $15,000 and the third-place rinka.com going for $10,000 USD, and these also represent the only other 5-figure .COM sales. In all, we counted a total of 29 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is significant drop from both the 41 similar sales from last week and the 38 domains of 2 weeks back.

The ccTLD section of the recap starts off with myhead.co.uk selling for 9,995 GBP, RentBerry bought their equivalent rentberry.ca domain for $8,888 USD, and gamingpcshop.nl sold for an even 5,000 EUR. Other interesting domain transactions of the week include tot.io ($4,950 USD), rewards.us ($3,499 USD), champion.hk ($3,000 USD), and 68.no (2,499 EUR). The .DE market supremacy also came to an end, as this ccTLD only registered a single domain sale. Overall, this week’s chart featured 17 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is just a bit higher than both the 16 sales of last week and the 15 qualifying transactions of the week before that), with the overall auction leaders sorting out in this order: .FR (4 listings), .IO (2), .US (2), and single entries for .AL, .CA, .CO.UK, .DE, .EU, .HK, .IN, .NL, and .NO.

This week in the Other section of the chart, we are not seeing a lot of activity. There were only a few sales, led by dental.store hitting $11,785 USD, and followed by windshield.org and lifehealth.org selling for 2,500 EUR and $2,200 USD, respectively. That was it for the week, and with only 3 total sales of $2K or higher, it ranked well back from both the 6 similar transactions of last week and the 7 Other domains that made the chart 2 weeks ago.
