Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Report

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers domain sales from July 2 to July 8. Starting off with the the .COM section, we find a massive sale, as nbx.com hit 6-figures at a whopping $130,000 USD. It’s not often we see prime LLL.com domains changing hands, and each transaction offers a benchmark for the current market conditions. Following this are a quintet of 5-figure sales including ezra.com (25,000 EUR), sekt.com (22,500 EUR), betiq.com ($19,999 USD), twcapital.com ($10,000 USD), and industrialathlete.com ($10,000 USD). In all, there were 30 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is a drop compared to both the 42 sales in last week’s chart and the 45 domain qualifiers from two weeks ago.

The ccTLD section of the Sedo chart begins with a very strange listing, as the hyphen-filled feel-the-flow.de checked in with a massive sale price of 12,500 EUR – I guess beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. In terms of US dollars, mine.eu squeaked into the 5-figure club, selling for 9,157 EUR, while ico.ba hitting $8,000 USD and eae.fr going for 5,000 EUR also represent significant ccTLD domain transactions. This week our chart displayed 16 ccTLD domain sales that hit a price of at least $2K (a drop from the 18 sales from last week but up slightly compared to the 15 of the week before that), and the overall auction leaders came out in this order: .DE (4 listings). .FR (3), and single entries for .AT, BA, .CO.UK, .EU, .ID, .IO, .SE, .TV, and .VC.

The Other domain recap may not be that exciting, but we do have a 5-figure sale to report, as reward.net sold for a very healthy $10,000 USD. The chart was also chock full of old school .NET and .ORG domains like cryptocraft.org ($3,500 USD), wordoflife.org ($3,399 USD), square.org (2,388 EUR), mynote.net ($2,500 USD), and recoverycenters.net ($2,200 USD) – in fact the only new gTLD sale was matrix.info at an even 2,000 GBP. The overall Other domain sales increased slightly this week, easily surpassing the 4 domains that cracked the $2K USD ceiling of both this week and last.
