Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Report
Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher. This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .NET, .ORG and other gTLDs.
The Sedo Weekly Domain Name Sales Recap for March 27 shows one major transaction on the .COM side, as dotdata.com sold for $29,888 USD. There was a bit of a drop-off after this, and only 3 other sales reached 5-figures, as monkeycasino.com hit 11,000 GBP, personare.com went for $12,000 USD, openchain.com sold at $10,001 USD, and both wayoflife.com and tinyhouse.com got an even $10,000 USD each. Slouch.com certainly wasn’t one, and just missed the mark with a $9,999 USD sales total. The CryptoCoin rush seems to have cooled off, and the only remotely-applicable domain sale was emojicoins.com at $3,588 USD. In all, there were 53 qualifying .COM sales, which represented a nice jump compared to last week’s 43 total sales.
The ccTLD section of the Sedo chart contained the largest domain sale of the week, as sturm.de caused a storm with a whopping sale of 30,940 EUR. The second place was also a .DE domain, with ume.de going for 18,350 EUR. Other significant ccTLD sales included mpc.co (7,999 GBP), pens.nl (8,550 EUR), betr.io (5,100 GBP), wager.co (3,450 GBP), and fyn.co ($3,700 USD). There were 21 ccTLD domain sales (up from 16 last week) that hit at least $2K in price, and the overall auction leaders came out in this order: .DE (5 listings), .CO (4), .CN (3), .US (2), .IO (2), and single entries for .ES, .JP, .MD, .NL, and .VC.
With only 5 domain sales on the chart, the Other category is not exactly setting the Sedo world on fire. The top sale was kreditkarte.info at 11,400 EUR, and then we have matching pairs of .NET, konzept.net (4,500 EUR) and teutonia.net ($2,500 USD), and .ORG , theuniverse.org (2,500 GBP) and pix.org ($2,309 USD), domain sales to close off the section. One positive from this is the welcome appearance of .NET domains on the Sedo chart, as these have been absent for a several weeks.
