Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from August 19 to August 25, 2019. We start off the .COM section of this recap with the biggest sale of the week, as acetech.com took home a very healthy 75,000 EUR, while the urban homee.com wasn’t far back at $40,000 USD. There were only two other domain listings that reached 5-figures, those being facetdata.com and runsonripple.com at $19,888 and $10,000 USD, respectively. There were a few other .COM transactions of note, such as the two-word domains framehome.com ($9,880 USD) and libertydigital.com ($5,900 USD), the brandables chivers.com ($6,980 USD) and matchoo.com ($4,850 USD), and the pronounceables diday.com ($5,900 USD) and toreba.com (5,500 EUR). In all, we counted a total of 30 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which remains near the same basic range as the 35, 39, and 31 qualifiers of last three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section features only a single domain that hit a 5-figure price, as the premium beauty.co just squeaked by at an even $10,000 USD. There was also a 2-letter domain changing hands this week, and fn.uk checked in at a very affordable 2,150 GBP, while a pile of 3-letters also sold including big.uk (4,350 GBP), cim.io ($3,999 USD), jjs.ch (2,500 EUR), and okf.de (2,150 EUR). Along with big.uk, word domains (both single and compound) also dominated as makeup.ch (7,500 EUR), super.mx (3,800 EUR), glamping.uk (2,550 GBP), timeline.gr (2,380 EUR), bolero.es (2,000 EUR), and the first-name staci.de (3,380 EUR) all qualified for the Sedo list. Overall, this week’s chart featured 19 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is still on par with the 17, 19, and 15 range of similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (5 listings), .UK (3), .CH (2), .IO (2), and then single entries for .CO, .CO.UK, .ES, .GR, .IN, .MX, and .NL.

The Other section of our recap starts off with a bit of a surprise, as none of the top 2 listings are from either the .NET or .ORG camp, as yours.xyz sold for $2,995 USD and aero.cloud was not far behind at $2,500 to lead this section. The only additional Other sale was digitex.org, which barely managed to qualify at $2,000 USD, so the new gTLD contingent made short work of the old guard in both the total number and total dollar value challenge segments. The Other section checked in with only 3 total domain sales, which is down next to the 11, 5, and 6 transaction range from our last 3 weekly updates.
