Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from August 26 to September 1, 2019. We start off the .COM section of this recap with two of this week’s biggest sales, as the 3-letter due of sxo.com and jbt.com changed hands at $23,000 and $20,500 USD, respectively. The close-to-home vinces.com was in the same range as these at an even $20,000 USD, while the rest of the 5-figure transactions included crosswordsolver.com ($18,000 USD), indico.com ($14,900 USD), and contabilidade.com ($12,500 USD). There were a few other .COM transactions of note, such as the two-word ebonydating.com ($8,200 USD), flowtrader.com ($5,000 USD), and notipping.com ($4,800 USD), as well as the pronounceable domains supos.com (5,000 EUR) and tiky.com ($4,999 USD). In all, we counted a total of 33 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which remains in the same range as the 30, 35, and 39 qualifiers of last three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section features the top Sedo domain sale of the week, as home.io took in a cool $25,000 USD, while caliente.tv ($15,000 USD) and famille.fr (10,000 EUR) also hit a 5-figure price, while flughafenhotels.de came very close to the relative USD equivalent at 9,000 EUR. There were also a couple of 3-letter ccTLD domain sales, with cbs.mx (4,000 EUR), sup.ch (2,999 EUR), and tre.es (2,000 EUR) all qualifying, along with the single-words funnel.eu (4,000 EUR), cannabis.com.cn ($3,500 USD), and accommodation.uk (2,000 GBP). Overall, this week’s chart featured 18 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is on par with the 19, 17, and 19 range of similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (5 listings), .CH (2), .EU (2), .FR (2), and then single entries for .COM.CN, .ES, .IO, .KR, .MX, .TV, and .UK.

The Other section of our recap starts off where last week ended, and although the old school hmla.org leads this section with a respectable $4,999 USD, it is also the last domain sale from the .ORG or .NET extensions. Everything else is from the new gTLD camp, and includes domain sales ending in .BLOG, .TECH, and .WORLD, thus giving another easy victory the new gTLDs in both the total number and total dollar value challenge segments. The Other section checked in with 4 total domain sales, which is down a bit next to the 3, 11, and 5 transaction range from our last 3 weekly updates.
