Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from February 17, 2020 to February 24, 2020. We start off the .COM section of this recap with another 6-figure transaction, this time the appropriately-named bettingtips.com, which won a cool $150,000 USD jackpot to lead the entire Sedo chart. Next up is yugo.com at a very respectable $50,000 USD and modena.com hitting a nice 34,000 EUR, while the 5-figure crowd was completed with eventmaker.com (20,000 EUR), allocations.com ($15,000 USD), smartblinds.com ($14,500 USD), and mrringo.com ($10,000 USD). In all, we counted a total of 44 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is on target with the 28, 41, and 47 qualifier range of our prior three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section of our recap begins with a rare 2-letter domain as hs.de tops this section with a 23,800 EUR price tag, followed by fly.us hitting an exact $10,000 USD. Short seems to be the hot ccTLD trend this week, as in addition to these we also have inc.ch (5,750 EUR) and klax.dk (5,000 EUR) completing the top 4, with the 3-letter las.kr ($2,900 USD) also making the grade. Overall, this week’s chart featured 13 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is a drop-off compared to the range of 21, 19, and 22 similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (7 listings), and then single entries for .CA, .CH, .CO.ZA, .DK, .KR, and .US.

The Other portion of the Sedo chart is actually quite active this week, topped by the one-letter h.energy selling for an impressive $15,000 USD. Up next is another new gTLD in writer.app at 7,000 EUR, and then wholehealth.net (5,500 EUR), mfc.app ($4,950 USD), and veterinaria.org (3,200 EUR). From this it’s easy to surmise that the new guard has taken both the total domain number and the total dollar value challenges for the second week in a row. We tallied 9 domain sales in this week’s Other section, which is well above the 5, 4, and 6 transaction range of our last 3 weekly updates.
