Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from January 6, 2020 to January 12, 2020. We start off the .COM section of this recap with the top sale of the week, as the 4-letter pronounceable xoco.com changed hands at an even $23,000 USD. Next up, we have a 5-figure club that consists of purem.com ($18,860 USD), cryptium.com (12,500 EUR), myarea.com (11,765 GBP), payzen.com ($11,500 USD), and voliro.com (10,000 EUR). Other notable .COM sales featured a few short and sweet pronounceables including snat.com ($5,800 USD), proxer.com ($3,700 USD), sqale.com ($3,000 USD), and sniky.com ($2,950 USD), as well as a couple of two-words like nodesoftware.com ($8,000 USD), hostby.com ($5,900 USD), and washdrop.com ($5,000 USD). In all, we counted a total of 38 .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, which is slightly higher than the 32, 35, and 35 qualifier range from our prior three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section of our recap begins with the 1-word fluent.io selling for a very lucky price of $8,888 USD, followed by the rare 2-letter gg.ie (7,500 EUR), then cyberdefense.de (5,555 EUR), meet.at (5,500 EUR), mbank.co ($4,330 USD), and imaging.at (4,000 EUR). Other domain transactions of note were spotlighted by the 3-letter ryb.de (2,750 EUR), the matching purem.de domain (3,500 EUR), as well as the single-words monk.ai ($2,500 USD), fundamental.ai ($2,200 USD), and themes.pk ($2,000 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 20 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which is within the range of 17, 16, and 20 similar transactions from the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (7 listings), .CO.UK (3), .AI (2), .AT (2), .ES (2), and then single entries for .CO, .IE, .IO, and .PK.

The Other portion of the Sedo chart is not exactly a hive of activity and the most prominent domain sale was the 4-letter ihmc.org reaching $4,999 USD with second place going to the 3-letter ilb.net at $3,688 USD. Thankfully we had at least one new gTLD making an appearance, this time one.money at the bare minimum of $2,000 USD, and its presence resulted in at least the theory of competition in the total domain number and the total dollar value challenges – both of which were easily won by the old guard. We tallied 4 domain sales in this week’s Other section, which was mid-level compared to the 2, 7 and 5 transaction range from our last 3 weekly updates.
