Sedo Weekly Domain Sales Recap

Each week, the online domain marketplace Sedo.com releases a list of their top public domain sales of $2,000 USD or higher (private sales are not reported). This chart is separated into three sections, the .COM domains, the ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains) and lastly, the Other domains, which represents the .ORG, .NET and other gTLDs.

This Sedo Weekly Public Domain Sales Recap covers public domain transactions from July 8 to July 14, 2019. We start off the .COM section of this recap with the two biggest Sedo transactions of the week, as ikg.com sold for $55,000 USD and firstdate.com changed hands at $40,000 USD. There are also several other 5-figure Sedo sales, including peaceful.com and simplist.com (both at $30,000 USD), cashon.com ($20,000 USD), iph.com ($18,700 USD), n2co.com (15,500 EUR), govenor.com ($12,000 USD), myalternatives.com ($11,250 USD), and voltix.com (10,000 EUR). In all, we counted a total of 56 Sedo .COM transactions of $2,000 or higher this week, and this represents a noticeable jump compared to the 37, 42, and 40 qualifiers of last three Sedo recaps.

The ccTLD section begins with the rare 2-letter we.de sitting at the top with a 30,000 EUR price tag, just ahead of buck.co and property.co, which sold for $19,888 USD and $10,000 USD, respectively. This trio completed the 5-figure ccTLD domains, but there were a few other notable domain sales, such as the mixed-character bike2go.de (7,485 EUR), the 3-letter (and potential domain hack) mad.am ($2,250 USD), as well as the single-words nerd.tv ($5,000 USD), evidence.me ($3,000 USD), delicious.ai ($2,400 USD), and venturing.co ($2,000 USD). Overall, this week’s chart featured 17 ccTLD domain sales that reached a price of at least $2K (which sits in the same basic range as the 22, 17, and 24 similar transactions of the prior 3 recaps), with the country extension leaders sorting out in this order: .DE (5 listings), .CO (3), .TV (2), and then single entries for .AI, .AM, .BE, .CH, .FI, .IO, and .ME.

The Other section of our recap doesn’t hold a lot of surprises, as it’s comprised almost entirely of .NET and .ORG domains, with the largest domain sale being vco.net hitting $4,999 USD. The usual battle between the old and new gTLD guard is obviously not present this week, as the only new gTLD transaction was craft.supply at only $2,000 USD. Even the overall sales numbers are not that exciting, as this week’s 5 total Other domain sales of $2K or greater was at the lower range of the 6, 5, and 9 transactions from our last 3 weekly updates.
